Janusz Kraszek, born on December 9, 1953, is not just any Go player—he is a legend in the European Go. Achieving the rank of 5 Dan, he has a long list of accomplishments. In 1983, he became the first and only Polish player to win the European Go Championship, a feat that remains unmatched.

He created the "Star of Poland," a Go-playing program that has won multiple European Computer Go Championships and even placed second in the World Computer Go Championships in 1993.
